MICHAEL HALDAS

Michael Haldas is an author, a religious educator, and a speaker. His books include Sacramental Living: Understanding Christianity as a Way of Life, (presented as gifts to Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and Pope Francis at the Patriarchate and the Vatican), Echoes of Truth: Christianity in the Lord of the Rings, and Amid Weeping There is Joy: Orthodox Perspectives on Tolkien's Fantastic Realm (contributor). Michael also has a long running podcast series called Sacramental Living with Ancient Faith Radio since 2015 (150 episodes to date). Through the Orthodox Christian Network (OCN), Michael does weekly Live Adult Education classes that have produced more than 200 video podcasts for the OCN YouTube channel and Facebook. He is the author more than 100 faith-based articles that have been published in Orthodoxy Now Quarterly Magazine, The National HeraldPravmir, Theosis Magazine and other publications. Michael also writes poetry and his more than 50 published poems have been featured in Rule of Faith: Journal of Orthodox Thought and Culture, multiple Local Gems Press poetry anthologies and poetry chapbooks, and online poetry publishers. He has delivered lectures locally and nationally. He teaches adult religious education at the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George in Bethesda, Maryland, and has done Zoom classes for the St. Nicholas OCA Cathedral in Washington DC. He has also worked with the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Religious Education Department to create educational lessons and materials.
