Falling Into the Hands of Mercy

On Friday, June 12 at 7 pm, Michael taught a Zoom class to people for the St. Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral Community called, Falling into the Hands of Mercy. The class lasted an hour with an opening prayer, lecture and then interactive discussion. Michael offered a brief reflection on God's merciful and compassionate nature quoting both scripture and the Holy Fathers; showed how throughout the Bible God is always being merciful; discussed why our liturgy and prayers use the word mercy repeatedly; and lastly how our brokenness teaches us how to move from sympathy to empathy and our ability to be merciful to ourselves and others.
